Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine

His passion and ingenuity have been the driving force behind the digital age. However his drive to revolutionize technology was sacrificial. Ultimately it affected his family life and possibly his health. In this revealing film we explore the trials and triumphs of a modern day genius, the late CEO of Apple inc. Steven Paul Jobs.

According to the film’s official website: “Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, Steve Jobs takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter.

Steve Jobs (stylized as steve jobs|) is an American biographical drama film based on the life of Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs, starring Michael Fassbender in the title role. The film is directed by Danny Boyle, produced by Scott Rudin, and written by Aaron Sorkin, whose screenplay was adapted from Walter Isaacson’s biography Steve Jobs. It is scheduled for release on October 9, 2015, roughly four years after Jobs’s death.

About the Film

Although specific plot details are currently unknown, Sorkin has revealed that the film will consist of three, 30-minute scenes spreading across sixteen years of the life of Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple. All of the scenes will dramatize backstage events before three major product launches (the Macintosh in 1984, NeXT in 1988, and the iMac in 1998). These scenes will take place in real time at “two auditoriums, a restaurant and a garage,” with a few flashbacks depicting key moments of Jobs’s life inserted throughout the story.

Sorkin has also indicated that the film will focus on Jobs’s relationship with seven other characters, including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, former Apple CEO John Sculley, Jobs’s first child, Lisa Brennan-Jobs, and Joanna Hoffman, one of the members of both the original Mac and NeXT teams. Andy Hertzfeld (another original member of the Mac team) and Chrisann Brennan (a painter who was Jobs’s high school girlfriend, an early employee of Apple Inc. before it went public, and Lisa’s mother) will also appear in the film.
