The movie is inspired by the true story of a modern-day prospector who, desperate for a lucky break, teams up with a similarly eager geologist in order to find gold in deepest, darkest Indonesia — sparking an adventure that goes right through to the boardrooms of Wall Street. It is based on the Bre-X mining scandal of 1997.

Principal photography began on June 29, 2015, in New York, New Mexico and Thailand. The film is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2016, by TWC-Dimension.
