A clever, roller-coaster thriller that centers on Dylan an air traffic controller who is given a jolt when he narrowly escapes being responsible for a mid air collision between two passenger planes. Caused by a mysterious blinding light that happened at 2:22, these strange occurrences continue and lead Dylan to meet Sarah, with whom he feels inexplicably linked. Together the two discover uncanny similarities with their current predicament and a double murder committed a generation ago. With a grim fate looming, Dylan must solve the mystery of 2:22 to preserve a love whose second chance has finally come.
2:22 is an American-Australian thriller film directed by Paul Currie and written by Nathan Parker and Todd Stein. The film tells about the air traffic controller Dylan Branson, who, thanks to a mysterious outbreak at 2:22, prevented the collision of two aircraft and met Sarah, with whom he opened the cruel mystery of the crossing of destinies. The film stars Teresa Palmer, Michiel Huisman, Sam Reid, Maeve Dermody, Remy Hii, Simone Kessell, Richard Davies, Kerry Armstrong, Jessica Clarke, Carma Sharon, Marisa Lamonica and Zara Michales.
2:22 was produced by Pandemonium’s Bill Mechanic, Walk The Walk Entertainment’s Steve Hutensky and Lightstream Pictures’ Paul Currie. Garrett Kelleher of Lightstream, David Fountain and Kel West of Flywheel Entertainment and Jackie O’Sullivan served as executive producers. Filming took place in Australia.
The film was released in theaters and on VOD on June 30, 2017 and has grossed only $422 in the US domestic market, making the film the lowest-grossing movie of 2017 that was released in theaters.
