Taglines: Some days killing yourself isn’t just hard… It’s Murder
Written by Ethan Hunter and Craig Thieman and directed by Thieman, Suicide for Beginners is a dark comedy about a hapless killer played by Wil Daniels whose attempts to off his ex-girlfriend (and make it look like a suicide) go wildly awry as more and more people are unwittingly drawn into his plot, stumbling into the killer’s out-of-focus crosshairs.
Insecure and unhinged, Garrett is dead set on murdering the unrequited love of his life, Mia. When he comes face to face with his victim, his awkward incompetence takes over and things quickly spiral out of control as he finds himself on a deranged path to becoming a serial killer
Alongside a cast of such Wilmington actors as Nate Panning, the film co-stars longtime cult actor Sid Haig as a crazy Russian landlord. Haig is known for playing Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie’s horror films “House of 1,000 Corpses” and “The Devil’s Rejects” among dozens of other credits. It also features a cameo appearance by the infamous Corey Feldman — he plays a pothead who comes to an untimely end — who made “Dream a Little Dream” in Wilmington as a teen heartthrob in the late 1980s.
