Halloween Ends (2022)

Halloween Ends Movie Storyline. The saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode comes to a spine-chilling climax in this final installment of the franchise. Four years after the events of Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn’t been seen since.

Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham, is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all.

Director David Gordon Green says Halloween Ends is more intimate film that honors John Carpenter’s body of work. Halloween Ends is the final chapter of the new trilogy of Halloween films, which began with 2018’s Halloween, continued with this year’s Halloween Kills, and concludes with Halloween Ends in October 2022. The film is set to start shooting soon and will bring back Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode to face the evil of Michael Myers, aka The Shape.

The film will also see the return of Andi Matichak’s Allyson, the granddaughter of Strode, who now has a history and vendetta against Myers after the events of the last two films. Halloween Ends is written by Green, along with Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier, who will craft the finale of this new trilogy, which has thus far been very successful, especially during the pandemic. Halloween Kills opened to $49 million at the box office during a pandemic and with a shared release on Peacock, which is no small feat with all of those factors in play.

Jamie Lee Curtis announced on Instagram that she has finished shooting her role as Strode in Halloween Ends, the third film in the David Gordon Green-directed trilogy, which hits theaters Oct. 14. Curtis also seemed to make clear that Halloween Ends will mark the last time she appears in the long-running slasher franchise.

Halloween Ends is an American slasher film directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan and Chris Bernier based on characters created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill. It is a sequel to 2021’s Halloween Kills and the thirteenth installment of the Halloween film franchise.

The film is set to star Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle reprising their roles as Laurie Strode and Michael Myers, with James Jude Courtney portraying Myers. Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Kyle Richards, and Omar Dorsey will reprise their roles as Laurie’s granddaughter, Allyson, Deputy Frank Hawkins, Lindsey Wallace, and Sheriff Barker. The film will be produced by Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Productions banner alongside Rough House Productions, Miramax and Trancas International Pictures.

Before the release of the 2018 film, McBride in June 2018 confirmed that he and Green had originally intended to pitch two films that would be shot back-to-back, and then decided against it, waiting to see the reaction to the first film. The film’s title was announced in July 2019 along with Halloween Kills. Halloween Ends was released on October 14, 2022 in the United States by Universal Pictures.
