Lost in the Night movie storyline. Emiliano lives in a small mining town in Mexico. Motivated by a deep sense of justice, he searches for those responsible for the disappearance of his activist mother who was standing up for local jobs against an international mining company. Receiving no help from the police or judicial system, he finds a clue that leads him to the wealthy Aldama Family, where he meets a famous artist, his celebrity wife and their beautiful daughter. It’s not long before he has a job at their home and becomes determined to uncover the secrets beneath the surface.
Lost in the Night (Spanish: Perdidos en la Noche) is a 2023 mystery thriller film directed by Amat Escalante from a screenplay he wrote with Martín Escalante which stars Juan Daniel García alongside Ester Expósito, Bárbara Mori, and Fernando Bonilla. It is a Mexican-German-Dutch-Danish international co-production. The film was presented in the ‘Cannes Premiere’ section of the 76th Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2023.
Those Lost in the Night, which depicts a brutal class divide landscape full of dark surprises, contemporary art gossip, corruption, narcotics and violence, tells a tense revenge story. Emiliano, who lives in a small mining town, is looking for those responsible for what was done to his mother years ago. Her mother, who opposed the activities of an international mining company, was kidnapped and disappeared.
Although he has lost hope, Emiliano wants to do justice with his own hands. The clue he finds leads him to the rich Aldama family, and he somehow finds a way to infiltrate the family. Will the dark secrets of this seemingly perfect home with a famous artist, his pop star wife and Instagram-famous beautiful daughters be revealed? This new film of Escalante, whose first four films we introduced to the audience in previous years, was presented to the audience for the first time in the Cannes Premiere section.
