After We Fell (2021)

After We Fell Movie Storyline. Tessa (Josephine Langford) has just made a life-changing decision, and that’s when everything turns upside down. Secrets about both her’s and Hardin’s families come to light, filling all they previously knew (and their renewed commitment to each other) with tons of doubts.

And that’s not all. Because Tessa is carrying a massive secret, there’s no one for her to trust with it—not even Hardin, who eventually becomes enraged over exactly what she’s hiding from him. Instead of being mature and talking things through, he instead does what he knows best—sabotage.

Tessa is now faced with the ultimate romantic question: is love enough for her? Because if she’s gotta be honest, this never-ending cycle of jealousy, anger and rage is taking a toll on her. Yet she’s never loved anyone so much…and not to mention she’s never been more turned on by someone else’s kiss. Despite the intense connection she shares with her love, is Hardin (flaws and all) worth risking everything? And if she chooses to follow her heart, is this the end of all she’s fought for?”

After We Fell (2021)

After We Fell is a romantic drama film directed by Castille Landon, based on the novel of the same name by Anna Todd. It is the sequel to 2020’s After We Collided. The film stars Josephine Langford, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Louise Lombard, Rob Estes, Arielle Kebbel, Chance Perdomo, Frances Turner, Kiana Madeira, Carter Jenkins, Mira Sorvino and Angela Sari.

In 2021, Amazon Prime Video acquired the France and UK distribution rights. The film began an international theatrical release on September 3, 2021. It is distributed by Voltage Pictures. After We Fell will be followed by After Ever Happy, set to be released in 2022. Filming of both films occurred back-to-back, with Castille Landon directing both films.

While the previous films were shot in the United States, due to scheduling conflicts (not to mention COVID-19), the third and fourth movies filmed in Bulgaria. Given the slight predicament (not that we mind, of course), some of the OG cast members had to sit out of production. But don’t you worry! Our entertainment wasn’t sacrificed, as each character is still in very good hands.

Will we ever see Hardin’s side of the story?

Actually, yes! Teen Vogue dropped this major news on us in April, with Landon revealing plans for two more movies to be added to the After universe. One is going to be a next-generation sequel about Tessa and Hardin’s kids and cousins (Emery, Auden, and Addy). The other will follow the events of Before (aka the prequel to the series), focusing on how Hardin became the broody Casanova we all knew him to be.

“The After universe just keeps expanding,” Landon told the publication while confirming she’s writing and directing both films. “The fandom, and how excited we are and their input, it really does inspire us all as creators every single day.”

But don’t expect Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes-Tiffin to reprise their roles in the movies. Because the two features will star Tessa and Hardin at different ages than in the current franchise, there’s a good chance the roles will be re-cast with actors who more appropriately fit the ages needed. Yes, you can start crying right about now.

Don’t be sad, though! These films are still a long time away, so for now, enjoy our current fave couple and get ready to appreciate the beauty that is After We Fell.
