Bridget Jones’s Baby Movie Storyline. After breaking up with Mark Darcy, Bridget Jones’s “happily ever after” hasn’t quite gone according to plan. Now in her forties and single again, she decides to focus on her career as a news producer and surround herself with her friends, old and new. For once, Bridget has everything under control.

Then, her love life takes a turn and she meets a dashing American named Jack Qwant, the suitor who is everything that Mr. Darcy is not. In an unlikely twist, Bridget finds herself pregnant, but with one hitch: she can only be fifty percent sure of who the baby’s father is.

Bridget Jones’s Baby is a British romantic comedy film directed by Sharon Maguire and written by Helen Fielding, David Nicholls, and Emma Thompson, based on the fictional columns by Fielding. It will be the third film in the franchise and a sequel to 2004 film Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. The film will star Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth, returning to their respective roles of Bridget Jones and Mark Darcy, as well as Patrick Dempsey as a new character. Filming officially began on 2 October 2015 in London England. The film will be released on 16 September 2016.
