Taglines: Get in line..

Cocaine Bear movie storyline. As one would probably guess, Cocaine Bear is centered around a wild bear that has consumed an absolutely insane amount of cocaine. The true story that Cocaine Bear is based on occurred in 1985 Kentucky when a drug smuggler died after ejecting from an aircraft while transporting around $14-million worth of cocaine.

While the smuggler died, the stash remained in the Chattahoochee National Forest, smack dab in the middle of grizzly bear territory. Sometime after the incident, locals would find the corpse of a massive grizzly bear, dead from a cocaine overdose. The bear’s body was surrounded by around 40 empty parcels that had previously been filled with cocaine, which the bear consumed until it died.

While the real bear in question wasn’t found until after it had overdosed and died, for a brief couple of minutes, it was likely the most dangerous animal on the face of the planet. It’s not hard to imagine what kind of erratic behavior an animal of that size would have in a situation like that, after consuming millions of dollars worth of cocaine all at once. The filmmakers will likely be having a field day, running wild with creative fun on this project; but probably not as wild as the Cocaine Bear.

Cocaine Bear is an American thriller film directed and produced by Elizabeth Banks and written by Jimmy Warden. It stars Keri Russell, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Alden Ehrenreich, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Kristofer Hivju, Christian Convery, Brooklynn Prince, Margo Martindale, and Ray Liotta. It is inspired by the true story of an American black bear that ingested a duffel bag full of cocaine in 1985. It will be one of the last films starring Liotta and the first to be released after his death in May 2022. Cocaine Bear is scheduled to be released in the United States on February 24, 2023, by Universal Pictures.
