Consecration movie storyline. Grace, a young eye doctor, is summoned to a remote convent in Scotland after the alleged suicide of her priest brother. Distrusting the Church’s account, Grace tries to find out what really happened with the help of Vatican priest Father Romero. As she explores the convent’s sepulchral cloisters, and the wild cliffs and windswept beaches nearby, she uncovers not only murder and sacrilege, but a disturbing truth about her own past which brings long-buried trauma to the surface.
Consecration is a 2023 supernatural horror-thriller film directed by Christopher Smith from a script he co-wrote with Laurie Cook, and starring Jena Malone, Danny Huston and Janet Suzman. The flm was shot in Scotland on the Isle of Skye, IFC Films distributed the film theatrically in the United States with Shudder having the first streaming window. Consecration was released on February 10, 2023, in the United Kingdom and United States; March 3, 2023 on VOD; and May 19, 2023, on Shudder. The film was screened at the Glasgow Film Festival on March 11, 2023.
