Damsel movie storyline. Lord Bayford receives a proposal from the Kingdom of Aurea to marry his daughter Elodie with Prince Henry, the son of Queen Isabelle. In return, he would receive a fortune in gold, capable to help his people from his depleted land. Elodie agrees to help her father and accepts the marriage.

Lord Bayford, his wife Lady Bayford, Elodie and her younger sister Floria travel to Aurea, and they meet King Roderick, Queen Isabelle and Prince Henry. Lady Bayford learns that Queen Isabelle is an arrogant and wicked woman and unsuccessfully tries to convince Elodie to call off the wedding.

After the ceremony, Elodie and Henry head to a cave for an ancient costume of his family, and Elodie finds that she will be sacrificed to a dragon to keep the prosperity of the kingdom. Elodie begins a cat and mouse game with the dragon inside the cave, searching for an exit while learning about the tradition of the royal family.

Damsel is a 2024 American dark fantasy film directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and written by Dan Mazeau. Millie Bobby Brown stars as Elodie, a young woman who accepts a marriage proposal only to realize that she is being used to repay a royal family’s ancient debts and must now escape while surviving attacks from the dragon lurking in the chasm. The rest of the principal cast consists of Ray Winstone, Nick Robinson, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Angela Bassett, and Robin Wright. Damsel began streaming on Netflix to mixed reviews on March 8, 2024.
