Ferrari movie storyline. Set during the summer of 1957. Ex-racecar driver, Ferrari, is in crisis. Bankruptcy stalks the company he and his wife, Laura, built from nothing ten years earlier. Their tempestuous marriage struggles with the mourning for one son and the acknowledgement of another. He decides to counter his losses by rolling the dice on one race – 1,000 miles across Italy, the iconic Mille Miglia.
Ferrari is an American biographical drama film directed by Michael Mann and written by Troy Kennedy Martin about Enzo Ferrari, the Italian founder of the car manufacturer Ferrari. It is based on the 1991 biography Enzo Ferrari: The Man and the Machine by motorsport journalist Brock Yates.
A first-look was released in October 2022, with two pictures. The world premiere of the film is scheduled for the 80th Venice International Film Festival on August 31, 2023. Originally scheduled to be released by STXfilms in the United States, North American distribution rights to the film were acquired by Neon in July 2023 following a bidding war which also included A24 Films and an unnamed streaming service, and dated for wide theatrical release in the United States on December 25, 2023. The film was released on Sky Cinema and Now in the United Kingdom in 2023 with STX retaining all other international rights.
