Goebbels and the Führer (2024)

Goebbels and the Führer reconstructs the last seven years of the existence of the Third Reich, i.e. from 1938 to 1945. The focus of the plot is the relationship of the “Führer”, the German Chancellor Adolf Hitler, and the “Seducer”, his fanatical Reich Minister for Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels. For years he had to spread the lie to the German public and abroad that Germany wanted to live in peaceful coexistence with the other peoples of Europe.

Well, after the annexation of Austria and Czechoslovakia, Goebbels was given the task of the Führer to prepare the Germans for the impending war. When it later became clear that Germany would lose the war, it was Goebbels who swore the people to “total war” in his speech in the Berlin Sports Palace.

In addition, Goebbels also pursues the second ideological goal of the Nazi regime. He is responsible for the Kristallnacht pogrom and the radical incitement against the Jewish fellow citizens of the Germans. Among other things, he commissioned the director Fritz Hippler to produce the anti-Semitic pseudo-documentary The Eternal Jew; a further step towards the murder of the Jews of Europe.

Goebbels and the Führer is a German feature film directed by Joachim A. Lang and starring Robert Stadlober, Fritz Karl, Franziska Weisz, Dominik Maringer, Moritz Führmann, Till Firit: Wolf-Heinrich von Helldorff, Christoph Franken, Michael Glantschnig and Katia Fellin.
