Marlowe movie storyline. A life-weary private detective, a mysterious blonde woman, a case to be solved… In late 1930’s Bay City, a brooding, down on his luck detective is hired to find the ex-lover of a glamorous heiress. Marlowe watches the detective who gave the movie its name. Obsessed with misfortune and loneliness, a beautiful blonde woman asks Marlowe to find her ex. Of course, it turns out that nothing is as it seems, everything is part of a larger secret.
Neil Jordan reunited with action star Liam Neeson, who took on the role of Raymond Chandler’s famous detective, in his latest movie. The neo-noir Marlowe, which made its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival both in the main competition and on the closing night, is the 100th film starring Liam Neeson. Neil Jordan says: “I can’t imagine Marlowe without Liam Neeson. I can’t imagine Michael Collins without him, though. Maybe an icon should only be brought to life by another icon”.
