Pain and Glory Movie Storyline. The Spanish film “Pain and Glory” directed by Pedro Almodovar, deals with director Salvador Mallo’s past to present elections and events that left a mark on his life. In the film, the 60s when Mallo lived his childhood, leaving the place where he was born and spent his childhood, emigrated to a village in Valencia with his family, seeking prosperity, the first love that caused his heart to beat in Madrid in the 80s, and and the events that lead to her acquaintance with cinema and recognition of herself.
Pain and Glory (Spanish: Dolor y gloria) is a 2019 Spanish drama film directed and written by Pedro Almodóvar. It stars Antonio Banderas, Asier Etxeandia, Penélope Cruz, Julieta Serrano and Leonardo Sbaraglia. The film was released in Spain on 22 March 2019 to generally positive reviews. It made its international debut at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, where the film was selected to compete for the Palme d’Or. At the Cannes Film Festival, Banderas won the award for Best Actor and Alberto Iglesias won the award for Best Soundtrack. Pain and Glory is now being released across the world. As of August 2019, it has grossed a total of $23.5 million worldwide.
The first trailer for Pain and Glory was released online on 31 January 2019. The film’s official poster was revealed on 11 February, followed by another trailer on 18 February 2019. The film’s stars and Almodóvar himself attended a photo call in Madrid for the film on 12 March 2019, before the premiere of the film took place at the Cine Capitol in Madrid on 13 March 2019. Pain and Glory was released in Spain on 22 March 2019. It will be released in the UK by Pathé on 23 August 2019. It is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 4, 2019, by Sony Pictures Classics.
