The Accusation movie storyline. Alexandre Farel (Ben Attal) is the son of the very prominent television presenter Jean Farel (Pierre Arditi). Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg), his mother, left her husband and lives with Adam Wizman (Mathieu Kassovitz), also separated from his wife Valérie Berdah (Audrey Dana) of Jewish and very religious faith with whom he had a daughter, Mila (Suzanne Jouannet).
When Alexandre returns from the United States where he was finishing his studies, he joins his mother for one evening and meets Mila. Together, they go to a party for former students of the Lycée Henri IV in Paris.
The next day, the police arrest the young man, accused of rape by Mila. Is he guilty? Is she a victim or does she want revenge? Is the truth unique? Differences of class, religion and media pressure interfere in this drama.
The Accusation (French: Les Choses Humaines) is a French film co-written, co-produced and directed by Yvan Attal, released in 2021. This is the adaptation of the novel of the same name by Karine Tuil, published in 2019. It stars Ben Attal, Suzanne Jouannet, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Mathieu Kassovitz, Audrey Dana, Pierre Arditi, Benjamin Lavernhe, Hervé Temime, Judith Chemla, Franz-Rudolf Lang and Réjane Kerdaffrec.
