Let your heart decide.
When feisty medical student Gabby Holland moves in next door to perennial ladies’ man Travis Shaw, they embark on a surprising romantic journey neither imagined possible. Travis has always believed a serious relationship would cramp his easygoing lifestyle, while Gabby is preparing to settle down with her long-term boyfriend—until an irresistible attraction between the unlikely couple upends both of their well-planned lives.
Spanning a decade and tracing the evolution of a love affair that is ultimately tested by life’s most defining events, this story features a memorable ensemble of friends and family in Sparks’s beloved North Carolina setting, culminating with the question that every couple must ask themselves: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?
The Choice is an American romantic drama film directed by Ross Katz and written by Bryan Sipe, based on Nicholas Sparks’ 2007 novel of the same name about two neighbors who fall in love at their first meeting. On October 20, filming was taking place at Hanover Seaside Club in Wrightsville Beach. The production would later move to downtown Wilmington, where filming would take place in a house. After a 40-days of filming, shooting would end in November.

Part 1 is how Travis Parker and Gabby Holland set off into an interesting journey of life as neighbors and then young lovers. Travis Parker is a happy man with wonderful friends, great occupation and an enviable life. He thinks his life is already full of joy and happiness – then Gabby Holland moves in the house next door. And what blossoms is an emotional and inspiring love story. It is a story about overcoming barriers to be with your loved ones. It is about pure and intense romantic love, trust, strength, and the choices we can make to show them.
Part 2 is Travis going to see Gabby in the hospital after she is put in a comatose state after getting into an accident. Gabby hasn’t woken up and the doctors say she probably never will. The choice Travis has to make is whether to take Gabby off life support or to send her to hospice care where she may never wake up. He decides to take his chances and move her to hospice care. Three months later, Gabby wakes up from her coma and moves back into their house.
