The Founder Movie Storyline. Kroc subtly maneuvers himself into a position to take control of their company, which grows into one of the world’s best-known brands after he buys the chain for $2.7 million in 1961.
The Founder is an American biographical film directed by John Lee Hancock and written by Robert Siegel. The film portrays the story of Ray Kroc and his acquisition of the McDonald’s fast food chain. The film stars Michael Keaton as Kroc and Laura Dern as his wife Ethel Fleming. The additional cast includes Nick Offerman, John Carroll Lynch, Patrick Wilson, Ric Reitz and Wilbur Fitzgerald. The film is scheduled to be released on August 5, 2016.
