Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman focuses on the life of Frank Sheeran, an Irish mafia shooter. II. Frank Sheeran worked for the Bufalino crime organization for years. Sheeran is also a trade union officer. Frank Sheeran’s life is presented in the film, one of the most mysterious events in American history, the worker leader Jimmy Hoffa’nın disappeared.
The Irishman is an upcoming American crime film produced and directed by Martin Scorsese and written by Steven Zaillian, based on the 2004 non-fiction book I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt. The film stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci as Frank ”The Irishman” Sheeran, Jimmy Hoffa, and Russell Bufalino, respectively, and follows Sheeran as he recounts his alleged jobs as a hitman for the Bufalino crime family.
It is the ninth feature collaboration between De Niro and Scorsese and their first since 1995’s Casino, the fourth film to star both De Niro and Pacino (following The Godfather Part II, Heat, and Righteous Kill), the fifth to star both De Niro and Pesci (following Raging Bull, Once Upon a Time in America, Goodfellas, and Casino), and the first time Pacino has been directed by Scorsese.
