The Order (2024)

The Order movie storyline. In 1983, a series of increasingly violent bank robberies, counterfeiting operations and armored car heists frightened communities throughout the Pacific Northwest. As baffled law enforcement agents scrambled for answers, a lone FBI agent (Jude Law), stationed in the sleepy, picturesque town of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, came to believe the crimes were not the work of traditional, financially motivated criminals but a group of dangerous domestic terrorists, inspired by a radical, charismatic leader (Nicholas Hoult), plotting a devastating war against the federal government of the United States.

The Order is a 2024 historical crime thriller film directed by Justin Kurzel and written by Zach Baylin, based on the 1989 non-fiction book The Silent Brotherhood by Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt. The film revolves around an FBI agent who goes after a white supremacist group known as the Order that was active in the United States in the 1980s. It stars Jude Law, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Jurnee Smollett, Alison Oliver, and Marc Maron.

The Order had its world premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on August 31, 2024, where it competed for the Golden Lion. Amazon Prime Video will distribute in multiple international territories excluding the United States. In May 2024, Vertical acquired U.S. distribution rights to the film, and will release it on December 6, 2024, in a limited theatrical release.
