The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle Movie Storyline. Queen Victoria England’s famous doctor and veterinarian After John Dolittle lost his wife seven years ago, he and his lively, exotic animals closed themselves behind the high walls of the Dolittle mansion. But when the young queen fell ill, Dolittle reluctantly set sail for an epic adventure to a legendary island in search of a cure. When he encounters his old enemies, he regains his wisdom and courage and discovers great creatures.
Dr. Dollitle is accompanied by a group of young and self-employed apprentices, as well as a group of noisy animal friends. The group also includes a worried gorilla, an enthusiastic yet bird-brained duck, a frickin ‘, mocking ostrich duo, a fun polar bear, and a stubborn parrot, Dolittle’s most trusted mentor and confidant.
Dolittle is an upcoming American fantasy adventure comedy film directed by Stephen Gaghan and written by Gaghan and Thomas Shepherd. It is based on the character Doctor Dolittle created by Hugh Lofting, primarily The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle. Robert Downey Jr. stars as the title character, alongside Antonio Banderas and Michael Sheen in live action roles; the voice cast includes Emma Thompson, Rami Malek, John Cena, Kumail Nanjiani, Octavia Spencer, Tom Holland, Craig Robinson, Ralph Fiennes, Selena Gomez and Marion Cotillard. The film will be released on January 17, 2020.
