Three Kilometres to the End of the World. Adi is a 17-year-old teenager from a village in the Danube Delta in Romania, who, through the efforts of his parents, is studying in Tulcea. Coming home for the summer vacation, Adi feels good with his family and his best friend, Ilinca. When the family is violently confronted with a truth they can neither understand nor accept, the unconditional love Adi should receive from his parents suddenly disappears, and Adi is left with only one solution.
Three Kilometres to the End of the World (Romanian: Trei Kilometri Până la Capătul Lumii) is a 2024 Romanian drama film directed by Emanuel Pârvu from a screenplay he wrote with Miruna Berescu. The film was selected for the Main Competition for the Palme d’Or at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where it had its world premiere on May 17, 2024. The film was chosen as the Romanian entry for Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards. In April 2024, Goodfellas acquired world sales rights to the film. Independența Film is set to distribute the film in Romania on October 11, 2024.
