On the evening of the eleventh anniversary of the September 11 attacks, a group of Islamic militants attack the American diplomatic compound and a nearby CIA Annex in Benghazi, Libya. CIA security contractors—military veterans who served with the Navy SEALS, Marine Force Recon and Army Special Forces—undertake a desperate defense of the American Ambassador and his staff within the diplomatic compound.

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is an American action thriller film produced and directed by Michael Bay and written by Chuck Hogan, based on the 2013 book 13 Hours by Mitchell Zuckoff. It is based on the true story of the six members of a security team who fought to defend the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, after a terrorist attack on September 11, 2012. The film stars James Badge Dale, John Krasinski, Max Martini, Toby Stephens, Pablo Schreiber, David Denman, Dominic Fumusa, Demetrius Grosse and Freddie Stroma.
