The Walk tells the story of Boston Irish cop Bill Coughlin as he is faced with fierce social pressure after being assigned to protect black high school students as they are bused into all-white South Boston High during the court-ordered forced integration of the Boston School System in 1974 which resulted in brutal violence and city-wide protests.
The Walk is a period drama film based on true events about Boston’s 1974 desegregation busing. Directed by Daniel Adams from a script he co-wrote with George Powell, the film stars Jeremy Piven, Justin Chatwin, Malcolm McDowell, Katie Douglas, Terrence Howard, Sally Kirkland, Lovie Simone, Thomas Francis Murphy, William Mark McCullough and Maggie Wagner.
