A Cat’s Life movie storyline. Rroû is a city kitten, lively and curious, who discovers life on the rooftops of Paris. His destiny changes when a ten-year-old girl, Clémence, adopts him and takes him to her country house in the heart of the Vosges mountains. This is the start of a shared adventure for Clémence and Rroû, who will grow up together and live a story that will transform them forever. They will cross paths with Madeleine, the neighbor who will help the little girl find her kitten.
A Cat’s Life (French: Mon Chat et Moi, la Grande Aventure de Rroû) is a film directed by Guillaume Maidatchevsky and released in 2023. It is an adaptation of the novel Rroû by Maurice Genevoix published in 1931 and reissued in 2023 on the occasion of the release from the film1. The film stars Capucine Sainson-Fabresse and Corinne Masiero.
The different scenes of the film, a modern reinterpretation of Maurice Genevoix’s work, were filmed in Paris and Nancy for the interiors, and in the Vosges mountains, in Plainfaing and La Bresse, for the exteriors. With a production at cat’s height, the film makes each animal a character in its own right, with its own emotions and character, all in mountainous landscapes more beautiful than ever.
Muriel Bec, the specialist in animal training for the cinema, “coached” the animals in the film. An animal director, she has more than 150 shoots to her credit, such as L’École bushnière, La Famille Bélier or series like Belle et Sébastien.
