Brimstone is a western thriller film written and directed by Martin Koolhoven, starring Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, Kit Harington, Carice van Houten, Paul Anderson, Emilia Jones, Ivy George, Vera Vitali, Carla Juri and Naomi Battrick. It is an international production, although mostly Dutch.
It was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival on September 3, 2016. It premiered in the Netherlands on January 12, 2017, before being released on March 10 in the United States in selected theaters and video on demand. It received mixed reviews, in contrast to positive reviews in Europe and festivals.
