La La Land is ah American romantic musical comedy-drama film written and directed by Damien Chazelle, and starring Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, J. K. The film’s title is a reference to both a nickname for the city of Los Angeles as well as a euphemism for a state of being out of touch with reality. Jordan Horowitz was set to produce the film for Gilbert Films, and Fred Berger for his own Impostor Pictures, while Lionsgate would handle the domestic distribution of the film. Justin Hurwitz would also reunite with the director to compose the music for the film.
On April 14, 2015, it was announced that Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone were in talks to join the film for the lead roles, while it was revealed that the script was written before the film Whiplash. On April 30, both actors Gosling and Stone were confirmed for the lead roles. On July 8, 2015, it was reported that Jessica Rothenberg, Sonoya Mizuno, and Callie Hernandez were added to the cast to play Stone’s character’s roommates.

Platt.
