Thirteen Lives recounts the incredible true story of the tremendous global effort to rescue a Thai soccer team who become trapped in the Tham Luang cave during an unexpected rainstorm. Faced with insurmountable odds, a team of the world’s most skilled and experienced divers – uniquely able to navigate the maze of flooded, narrow cave tunnels – join with Thai forces and more than 10,000 volunteers to attempt a harrowing rescue of the twelve boys and their coach. With impossibly high stakes and the entire world watching, the group embarks on their most challenging dive yet, showcasing the limitlessness of the human spirit in the process.

Thirteen Lives is an biographical survival drama film directed by Ron Howard. The film stars Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton, Sukollawat Kanarot, Thiraphat Sajakul, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Vithaya Pansringarm, Tom Bateman, Paul Gleeson and Lewis Fitz-Gerald. The film was released in selected UK cinemas from July 29. It was followed by a global release on Amazon Prime Video on August 5.

The film’s original score was composed by Benjamin Wallfisch. It was released on November 18, 2022. It was originally set for an April 15, 2022 release, but was changed to the current date in response to positive test scores from its test screenings, where it earned a 97 in the top two boxes and an 86 definite recommend, the highest in MGM’s history.
